Wow what a weekend, I'm still on cloud nine and speechless. It's been a while since we've been to the Reggio Emilia shows, but it's always a pleasure to show there, since usually you win mouthwatering local food like cotechino, prosciutto and other goodies (I'd take a big prosciutto over a rosette anytime lol). We attended the National Hunting Breeds Dog Show in Vicenza with our young promise Rose. We met the owner of Rose's sister I Want You Back "B.B" and we had a nice time. Not the best way to enter into the new year but still I can't complain. Rosie got placed in Junior class both days under respected specialist judges. She's maturing well for her age and I can't wait to see what the future will bring. Had a fun weekend in Modena due to the presence of our friend Vivian with her girl I Want You Back, known as B.B. Our two handsome boys decided to sit pretty for the camera for once, so we took the chance and now we have some new lovely portraits of our handsome gents. Also, we received new photos of Jenga, now called Alba, in her home. We're so happy for her and grateful to her owners for taking such excellent care of her. It was almost a last minute decision to enter our girls to IDS Verona and boy am I glad I did. We had a great time with many people there and it was a reminder of how dog shows aren't only about the competition but about the meeting of like minded people who share the same passion for the breed and the sport. Last weekend was an emotional show for me. Although I'm not ecstatic of the location and the ambience, Vrtojba dog shows will always have a special place in our hearts. It was the first dog show we ever took part in and boy what a show it was, winning Runner Up Best Puppy in Show with our foundation Bagrijana. It was 10 years ago, and some times it just feels like yesterday. Anyway we entered our Borzoi girls to the double IDS and the papillon puppies to the specialty in the evening of Saturday. As always it's that time of the year to groom dogs, pack up our show gear and move to Zagreb. The interesting panel of judges and the winter specialty show are what have drawn us to this show initially, and we've gone back almost every year since the first time in 2008. This year was no different, but we entered more dogs that the previous years. Our young Argentinian export rocked the Chilean show scene at the prestigious SICALAM dog shows.We thank immensely Yuya's owner Jimena of October Rojo Kennel for all the hard work she's putting into this young promise. Yuya is actually the first sibling of the litter to obtain not one but two junior championships. Just a few days after Mooney's win at the Borzoi Club of Victoria Championship Show, Mooney aka AUS CH FULL MOON FEVER TANTEZAMPE FOR CLOVELLY rocks the rings again at The Royal Melbourne Show. Judged by Mrs. Virginia Lyne, Mooney wins Dog CC , Best Male and R/Up BOB ! The day just gets better when his daughter Clovelly Arctic Queen went Best of Breed, who was also a Group finalist. What lovely news we're receiving from our dogs all over the world lately. Yesterday our lovely Mooney aka AUS Ch Full Moon Fever Tantezampe for Clovelly was entered, after a break from the show rings, at the Borzoi Club of Victoria Chiampionship Show and owned the stage. Along with our Spring Club show in Italy, the show hosted by the Slovenian Club for Sighthounds at the beginning of September is one of our favorite shows. The location is lovely, the weather almost perfect and the panel of judges interesting, all partnered with the warm welcome by the Club members and organizors, which makes the show a "must" for all sighthound afficionados. This year we decided to enter the Beauty & Performace event, so we showed dogs on Saturday and coursed them on Sunday. We had a great time with friends and fellow colleagues, will definitively try to enter next year too!
